Choose a Web Host
Are you new to setting up a website, and getting hosting? I know it can be a very confusing, and hard thing to figure out. Especially, when these computer programmers use words like VPS, and cloud hosting. If you are not in the industry you have no clue what to do, and how you should proceed, when it comes to making an intelligent decision. Look do not feel bad, most of us don’t either. That is why I thought I would write this article, and cut through all the nonsense, and fancy terminology, to just give you the straight up facts, in easy to understand lemans terms. First of all, the only thing that you need to know is that if you are going to create a site, be it a blog, or an email capture page, you do need to get hosting.
Now there are dozens of hosting companies that are very reputable. The biggest in the industry is still Host Gator. When picking or looking at a hosting company just look for one with a good reputation that offers many perks. Check into their history, and see if their servers are powerful enough to handle a large client base, and make sure they do not have any kind of power outages. Also, and this one is very big on my scale, especially since I do internet marketing for a living, check to see if their customer service is top notch, and live. Sometimes I have questions that need to be answered immediately regarding my business. When trying to figure out how to choose web hosting service look to see what they charge you for each domain. A good company will offer a set price for unlimited domains, and not nickel and dime you to death.
Another piece of advice I can offer is make sure your hosting company offers some sort of auto renewal of your account. This way if you are out of town for some reason and forget to make a monthly, or yearly payment, your sites will not be suspended. Believe me, if you are in the middle of a large marketing campaign, you do not want to miss out all that traffic because your site is down, even if it is just a couple of hours. Also, talk to people in the industry. When discussing with them how to choose a web hosting service, ask them who they use, and what the pros and cons are of their service are. Remember, everybody’s needs are different, as well as the type of companies that are out there. Take your time, and do not jump on the first company that offers cheapest hosting.
